Powell Gardens, Kansas City’s Botanical Garden

When Powell Gardens asked us to invigorate a dormant campaign, we developed a strategic plan, then produced a campaign film, researched and wrote a case statement, and planned events. Working with the marketing director and a digital partner, we launched a Google Ads campaign resulting in a 25% increase in membership in 90 days. 

The Marjorie Powell Chapel is one of Kansas City’s favorite places to get married. Campaign donors provided funding for improvements to the chapel including the construction of a new building suite nearby.

Powell Gardens recognizes donors with named gardens. Robert and Marlese Gourley received a framed print of the water garden names for them.

A botanical garden is the perfect place for donor events. We engaged major gift prospects at exclusive events before the Gardens’ holiday concerts in the chapel. Guests enjoyed dinner with board members in the visitor center before strolling through the holiday light dispay to the chapel. This strategy effectively engaged 30 new prospects.
