Video Content Continues to Grow in Importance

The importance of video for getting your message across increases ever year. From 2019 to 2020, 71% of people watched more video than the year before, according to HubSpot. The majority of marketers say video has the best return on investment. Why? Ninety-five percent of people will remember content with video compared to 10% remembering content in the form of text (Insivia). Some other facts illustrate the importance of video in your marketing mix: 72% of people want to learn about products and services through video instead of text (HubSpot); and 59% of executives want to watch videos instead of reading text (Wordstream).

The ways to create videos grows every year. Several apps allow you to drop in stills and video, write a few lines, and viola, you get a video. These kinds of videos aren’t great. You want a video that’s memorable. A video that tells a story and has compelling visuals. It should be enjoyable to watch! Your marketing and communications team may be able to make memorable videos from scratch with some training. You also can contract with a video production company to make your videos. Hammock Communications provides both options: training for your team and video production from start-to-finish.

Live videos on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram also get your message out there in a relatively simple way. That is if you’re game for going live. Beth Hammock coaches live-streamers on what to say and where to say it. She will write your script and shoot the live stream, or teach you how to do it yourself.
